This work is the first in a series of “The Book,” which I began in the 90s. The series has a nearly 30-year history. It was stolen, and I had to recover and rewrite some of the works. Part of the work has been preserved. I have once again written this picture, embodying old ideas. Here is a book that symbolizes, in particular, the Bible. The book is the source of human knowledge. The letter itself is an abstract symbol that we can count. In my pictures, I draw signs in the form of “symbols of non-being.”
