Der glutrote Fluss

Personal exhibition at the Russian Cultural Center in Helsenki, 1994

Archetypes are the beginning, prototypes reflecting the essence of human existence: the taming of fire, chaos, creation, the union of male and female principles, generational change, etc.
Images of archetypes accompany a person constantly. They are the source for myths, religion, art and gradually from confused, dark, alien images turn into symbols,
beautiful in form and universal in content.
Each myth is just one of the variations in the manifestation of archetypes that are common to all mankind and are inherited.
Through symbols and metaphors, the sacred is revealed to man. They also protect him from direct contact with the colossal emotional energy of archetypes.
Archetypes in culture are revealed through images using metaphors. Art is able to respond to the most intimate and deepest human thoughts with their eternal significance.

“Art is the highest expression of time. Each work must have something from the first days of creation, from the smell of the earth, one might say – something animal. All art is a measure. Measure for measure, this is everything … ”
